Fees & Charges

Age Requirements

We will charge drivers 21-25 years old a young driver fee (reference price: AU$ 10.00 per day, excluding taxes). The fee must be paid online or at the branch.

Additional driver fee

Our policy includes a $5/day additional driver fee. Customers must provide the necessary documents for any additional drivers.

Child Seat

Prior reservation is required for child seats. Child seats for children aged 0-4 years are available at a daily rate of $10.00, and for children aged 4-8 years at the same rate.

Mileage Fee

• $ 0.2/km after 150km/day(For local customer only).
• Cross state drop off will be charged based on the location (at least $450).
• You have the option to add unlimited kilometers for $20/day.

Fuel Policy

If you pick up the car with a full fuel tank, you must also drop off it off with a full fuel tank. If you fail to do so, the company will charge the cost of the unfilled amount of fuel and the working hours of the employee responsible for refueling the car. More specific information will be provided by the branch during pick-up. It is recommended that you keep a receipt of the last time you refueled and take photos of the fuel gauge when you pick up the car.

Outside of Business Hours

If you plan to pick up or drop off the car outside business hours, please contact the branch in advance. This service may not be available, or additional fees and taxes may be charged.

Traffic Fines & Road Fees

Customer should be responsible for all fines and toll notices.

• Payment Method: All bills will be collected directly from customer‘s credit card. This can happen within a few weeks after the vehicle returns.
• Nomination of the bills: If the credit card provided by customer is unavailable, the bill(s) will be nominated to the customer. An extra administration fee will happen in this case (normally $ 30 for every ticket/notice).

Branch Notice

After selecting additional services in-store, a 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be charged. Please refer to the detailed breakdown of costs in the contract for more information.

Early Pick-up

If the branch agrees to your early pick-up request, please drop off the car the same amount of time in advance. Otherwise, you will be charged an additional fee that will be determined by the branch. You can contact the branch in advance to confirm this fee.

Late Pick-up

If you delay picking up your car at the store, please contact the store for consultation before pick-up time. Otherwise, it may cause you to be unable to pick up your car. If the branch agrees to your delay, they are most likely to charge a fee. We suggest that you arrive on time within the booking time. In addition, for the delayed unused time, the store will not refund the relevant fees. To avoid any cost disputes in the future, please carefully check the pick-up and return time on the rental contract and the estimated settlement fee when picking up the car, and sign after verifying that they are correct.

Early Drop-off

Generally, you will not need to pay an additional fee if you drop your car off early, but the rental car supplier will not be obliged to refund you for the unused rental period. If you are paying at the branch, you can try negotiating for a refund. If you've prepaid the rental fee and the branch agrees that the remaining rental period can be refunded, please keep proof of this. If the branch terminates the contract due to your own behavior (such as illegal driving or violation of the terms of the rental contract), the remaining rental fee will not be refunded, and the fee will still be calculated based on the full rental period stated in the contract.

Late Drop-off

A $20 penalty per day will apply continuously 7 Days after due date. This penalty will continue to be incurred until such time the Full Amount of rental arrears is extinguished.

Roadside Assistant

Customer may access 24 x 7 Roadside Assistant for free. The contact phone number is 1800 817 683.

Potential Charges

• Cleaning Fee: Smoking is prohibited in all Cheapa vehicles. If there is smell of smoke or cigarette's ashes in the vehicle when it returns, Cheapa will charge $110 cleaning fee. The same fee will be applied when there is mud or rubbishes in the vehicle;
• Fuel Fee: Charges will apply if the vehicle returns with less Fuel than the Check Out Fuel Reading; additional $30 administration fee applicable;
• Lost key Fee: It will incur a charge equal to the replacement cost;

Insurance, Liability & Deposit

The deposit will be refunded within 14-30 days after you drop off the car.
